About the Role:
Nature Center Guides (NCG's) are the friendly faces are responsible for welcoming visitors to our campus. NCG's work the front desk, check in visitors and help them learn what they can do while on our campus. NCG's also help interpret exhibits and displays for guests, answering visitor questions, support onsite programs, help people check out in our gift shop, and maintain the cleanliness of our fabulous facility.
Who is this for?
The NCG role is a great for folks who enjoy interacting with others and talking about wildlife, conservation and all things CFW! This role is mostly desk-based, so it's a good fit for those with some mobility challenges, those who can't lift really heavy things and/or those who aren't interested in the challenging outdoor work some of our other roles require.
Time Commitment:
One, four-hour shift per week for a minimum of 5-6 months, with the opportunity to continue volunteering year-round or return the following season.
Skills:

Friendly and comfortable with people

Basic knowledge of native species and ambassadors

Strong commitment to the Center's mission

Computer literate (used for gift shop check out)

Ability to work in fast-paced and sometimes crowded environment

Enjoys sharing nature-based activities with children and adults

Our team will review your application to determine whether we could be a good match. Then we will follow up to request a brief phone interview to discuss your interests, background, and the role.
If selected, you'll get assigned a shift and receive helpful training and guidance from the Education Staff - before you know it, you'll be an official member of the incredibly valuable Center for Wildlife volunteer team!
