Summer Camp volunteer

About the role:

 

​Center for Wildlife hosts weekly summer camp sessions with themes like Sensory Exploration, Habitats & Wild Play, and Animal Adventures & Animal Care. We're looking for volunteers able to spend at least 1 week with us (Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm) to help support our Summer Camp Lead Staff in engaging the group in activities, setting-up and cleaning our Nature Center and classroom, and overall connecting kids with nature.

Skills:

  • Friendly & comfortable with children and adults

  • Good communication skills

  • Knowledge of local wildlife and natural history or the ability to learn

  • Enthusiasm for conservation 

  • Commitment to safety and ability to adhere to established protocols

  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs & Be On Your Feet for an 8-hr day

 

 

Time commitment & Training:

Camp Volunteers are required to be onsite for one or more 32-hour week(s) (8am-4pm Monday through Thursday) during our day camp season (late June - late August).

 

A group training will be provided before the camp begins (2027 date TBD). This training totals approximately 5 hours and is held at our facility. Details will be given during the application process.
