NATURE CENTER GUIDE

About the Role:

These friendly faces are responsible for welcoming visitors, program setup, ensuring safety protocol is being followed, some limited animal care, interpreting exhibits and displays for guests, answering visitor questions, assisting with activities, completing transactions in the gift shop, and maintaining the cleanliness of the nature center, gift shop, and lobby.

Time Commitment:

One four-hour shift per week seasonally, ending October 1st, with the option to return the following season, assist with special events, and continue volunteering year-round.

Skills:

  • Friendly and comfortable with people

  • Basic knowledge of native species and ambassadors

  • Strong commitment to the Center's mission

  • Computer literate

  • Comfortable promoting safe, appropriate behavior with visitors

  • Ability to work in fast-paced and crowded environment

  • Enjoy leading group nature crafts and other activities with children and adults

Our team will review your application to determine whether we could be a good match for each other. If so, we will follow up to request a brief phone interview to discuss your interests, background, and the role.
 

If selected, we will invite you for an orientation and training sessions. After that, you'll be an official member of the incredibly valuable Center for Wildlife volunteer team.
